Dear Parents,

It has been a productive week for both our teachers and enthusiastic students as they settle into the new academic year. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting various classes, witnessing engaging interactions, and observing the remarkable work being accomplished. A particular highlight was the delightful primary school assembly I attended this afternoon. Mr. Matthew and his team of teachers captivated the students with an engaging story, while Mr. Peter provided some engaging background support. It was truly heartwarming to see everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves.

We’ve welcomed a significant number of new students to ABIS this year, and our teachers have been putting in extra effort to ensure their smooth integration into our school and the broader ABIS community. It’s wonderful to note that our returning students from last year have played a crucial role in making these new students feel at home. During my recent classroom visits, I witnessed firsthand the camaraderie, group work, and friendly interactions among the students.

As a new parent, you may understandably have concerns about your child’s adjustment to school life. I wish to emphasize the importance of open communication; if you have any questions or if there are any concerns regarding your child’s experience at ABIS, I encourage you to reach out and have a conversation with your child’s teacher. They are here to support your child’s growth and well-being, and your input is valued.

We’ve had some recent activity around our main swimming pool. A pool company has been diligently working to locate and address a leak issue. The pool has been completely drained, and comprehensive vacuum tests have been conducted on all the inlets and outlets. Their findings indicate that the leak is in the inlet pipes, necessitating the deconstruction of certain areas to expose these pipes for further examination and replacement if needed. This critical maintenance work is set to commence this weekend, and once the pipes are accessible, the pool company will conduct further tests. Unfortunately, we do not have a precise timeline for the completion of this work at the moment.

On a related note, we’ve also been looking into the vacant land behind the green fence. Our plan is to level the ground and add more gravel. It serves as an area for students to assemble during fire drills. If you happen to have access to some truckloads of gravel and would like to contribute to this effort, your generous donation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to a successful and enriching academic year ahead.

Enjoy a restful weekend!

Dominic Robeau
