We’ve started the school year with the Unit of Inquiry “Who We Are,” which is a great way for the students to get to know each other better, especially at the beginning of the year.
This week, we focused on learning about everyone’s birthdays. Each student shared their celebration date, and we made colorful birthday balloons to decorate the classroom. These balloons serve as a visual reminder so that no one’s special day is forgotten.
We’ve also begun exploring the sounds of our first letters: ‘a’, ‘i’, ‘s’, and ‘t’. The students are learning not only the sounds these letters make but also their actions and how to write them.
In addition, we’ve been discussing emotions and feelings. We’ve introduced an “emotional check-in” routine where students assess their feelings when they arrive at school. Since emotions can change throughout the day, we encourage them to check in again later. This practice fosters a better understanding among students and encourages support.
Of course, learning wouldn’t be complete without having fun! We’ve had a lot of enjoyable moments this week.
Thank you for your continued support and enjoy your weekend.
