Dear Primary Families,

I am very pleased to welcome everybody back to a new and exciting school year at Al Batinah International School (ABIS).

I am honored to have the opportunity to take on the role of Acting Primary Team Lead and am very much looking forward to the year ahead. I have been teaching across the primary age range at international schools, in various roles, for over 20 years and am proud to now lead such an experienced and knowledgeable team of educators here at ABIS.

There has been a tremendously positive atmosphere at school this week as new and returning teachers have worked together preparing learning spaces for the year to come.  Staff workshops have covered a number of topics, including our school Mission and Vision and we have spent time focusing on our goals for the year. Everyone is very excited to begin with the students next week.

Thank you to new families who attended our open morning earlier today.  It was a great opportunity for new students to meet their teachers and see their learning spaces before everyone arrives on Sunday morning.

On Sunday morning, students should arrive at school between 7:40 – 8:00 am.  When children arrive, they will be directed to their grade level areas. Please be aware that some grade levels (G3: Ground floor LC1, G5: First Floor LC1, and G6: Ground floor LC2) are in different locations to last year. Teachers and classroom assistants will be on-hand to meet and greet and to support as students arrive.

Please do say hello next week if you have the chance, or at some point in the weeks ahead. I am here to support your child and truly value communication and the partnership between home and school.

Have a wonderful weekend and I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday morning.

Regards,

Matthew
