Dear parents,
I am excited to inform you that we have embarked on a new Unit of Inquiry entitled “Where we are in place and time.” Throughout this unit, our focus will be on reflecting upon our personal journeys and our progress in Grade 1. We will also set goals and engage in discussions about how to overcome challenges.
During this week’s activities, we initiated our exploration by encouraging self-reflection. We encouraged the students to look into the mirror and contemplate what they see. Who do they identify themselves as, and why is it crucial to treat themselves with kindness? We also delved into the concept of making mistakes and the range of emotions that accompany them.
Furthermore, we explored strategies for adopting a positive perspective when faced with errors. In addition, we are thrilled to share that the students put in tremendous effort to prepare for our assembly. Their hard work truly paid off as they shone on stage like stars!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and take the time to celebrate their outstanding performances.
Ms. Guinee Kagie.
