Dear Parents and Students,
Good afternoon and Happy Thursday.
This week, we concluded the grand PYP Exhibition with an integrated learning engagement including both language and Unit of Inquiry. Students were asked to complete self-reflections and peer feedback by students. For this, students have chosen picture highlights and stitched these together to make a video. As part of the video they have composed a script and then added a layer of voice over to their video as their reflection of both their process and their Exhibition product.
Please do talk with them about this and look for a copy of their script in their Thursday take home folder.
For photos of students in action this week, please see our collage and Grade 6 Picture folder linked below.

Google Classroom:
As you will be aware, our current grade 6 students are only 5 weeks away (now 26 school days) from being the new grade 7. Because grade 7 uses google classroom as a student management system to share tasks, projects, work samples and gradings, as part of transition processes, and because you have now signed up for your child’s Google classroom account you will receive a weekly summary via email at 4pm on Fridays. As of this week and for the rest of the year we will also be sending home a Thursday ‘Take Home folder’ containing samples of your child’s work as a point of conversation and insight for you.
Please contact us via email if you have any questions about this.
Maths:
This week, students worked on refreshing and developing their conceptual understanding around fractions, decimals and percentages. For this students were asked to find fractions of whole numbers showing their working out and explaining their thinking on video. Students being able to explain their mathematical thinking is very important at this stage so please look for a sample of this in students Thursday ‘Take Home’ folders as a point of conversation.
How you can help at home:
Please also help your children use their Nessy, RAZ kids, Epic and Prodigy accounts for numeracy and literacy practice as part of their homework.
