Dear KG2 Families,
During our recent Mathematics inquiries, we explored the concept of subtraction. We encouraged them to use concrete strategies that involved visual aids and manipulatives. Drawing a picture was a common strategy that the children used to help them understand subtraction. They drew pictures of groups of objects and crossed out the ones they wanted to subtract, then counted the remaining objects to find the answer. We also provided manipulatives such as counting bears and blocks to give the children a hands-on approach to subtraction that helped them better understand the concept of taking away. By using these strategies, our little learners have begun to develop a solid foundation of maths skills and problem-solving abilities that will serve them well as they continue to explore more complex mathematical concepts in the future.

It’s hard to imagine that the month of Ramadan is almost over. We extend our warmest wishes to those who are celebrating Eid, and we hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday.
See you all on Sunday the 30th of April.
Warm regards,
Mrs Nicholson and Ms Haifa
