Dear Primary Families,

Thank you to those who were able to attend our Kindergarten 1 & 2 Assembly today.  It was great fun to see our littlest learners taking the stage and they did a terrific job.  You could see some of their nervousness disappear when they saw siblings or parents, or other friendly faces, supporting them.  Our next assembly is on Thursday, Feb. 16 for Oman Week, followed by Thursday, Feb. 23 hosted by Grades 1 & 2.

Next week is Oman Week and, as you are aware, classes are going adventuring!  Lots of field trips are planned, as well as some special guests visiting the school.  Students will experience Omani drumming, pottery and stories, as well as get to visit and pet camels and learn traditional games.  Teachers have planned special art, research and literacy activities and each student will contribute to our “Museum of Oman” in the Atrium of LC3, which has already started to take shape.  Be sure to read all communications from your child’s teacher(s) in order to be fully informed about what is happening for each different class.

The following week ABIS will celebrate International Mother Language Day on Feb. 21.  Teachers will be inviting parents or other family members into classrooms to share stories, songs and speaking games with students.  If you are keen to participate, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher, or let me know how you might like to be involved.

Have a great weekend.  Maeve
