WEEK 20
Dear Parents and Guardians of KG1,
We had our very First Assembly today! It was a bit scary but exciting for us to be on stage for the very first time!
We loved showing you how capable and brave we are to “march” in front of our whole school and whole school community! Thank you for being there to watch us do our best.

We also enjoyed playing in our Water Park this week – making new connections about how water flows and how rivers are formed. We learnt that saving water by only pouring out how much we need from the water table is very important as water is essential to keeping everything alive. This allowed us to lead into our new Unit Of Enquiry – Sharing The Planet – Living and Non-Living objects.
This week we practiced the following in Mathematics:
- numeral identification
- counting forwards/backwards from 1 to 10
- counting forwards from 1 to 20
- practicing to identify number order
We are continuing to develop our writing, literacy and speaking skills in English by:
- identifying sounds of letters
- listening attentively to stories
- retelling the story
- participating in show and tell
- drawing stories
- speaking English to each other
We are working on our Communication and Social Skills by:
- sharing and taking turns
- being a principled and respectful person (this is very important) –
- showing kindness and caring to our friends – something we need to do everyday.
- including everyone in our games
- improving on our listening skills – following instructions that are given in class (and at home)
- learning to use English words to communicate with each other.
It was a fun filled week and we hope that you have wonderful weekend!
Warm regards,
Miss Erasmus, Ms. Buthaina, Ms Kamla and Ms Asila
