The first unit of this school year is ‘ Who we are’. That fits perfectly with getting to know each other better, which we need to do in the beginning of a school year. This week we wanted to know when each one of us celebrates our birthday. We decided to decorate our birthday cookies and we took a photo of them. Those photos are hanging in our classroom so we will not forget anyone’s birthday. We also learned our first writing letters ‘a’, ‘i’, ‘s’, ‘t’. We know now that every letter has a name and a sound.
Furthermore we talked about our feelings and emotions. We made an emotional check in so when the students arrive at school they check themself in. Of course our feelings can change during the day and then they check in again. This helps us to understand each other better and to help support one another.
And of course we had lots of fun!
