Dear Primary Families;

I am very pleased to welcome everybody back to a new and exciting school year at Al Batinah International School (ABIS). While this is my third year here in Sohar, it is my first opportunity to begin a school year with everybody in person.

The energy of our school has been exceptional this week, with new and returning teachers participating in orientation workshops and preparing learning spaces for the year to come.  We are building a positive culture for our school through examining our vision and planning collaboratively.  Everyone is very excited to begin with the students next week.

Thank you to new families who attended our open afternoon on Wednesday.  It was a great opportunity for new students to meet their teachers and see their learning spaces before everyone arrives on Sunday morning.

On Sunday morning, students should arrive at school between 7:40 – 8am.  When children arrive, they may play outside if they are early.  At 8am, all students will meet in the Mazoon for a school wide start to the school year. All teachers will be present with signs, so that students can easily find their grade, their friends and their teachers. Introductions will be made before Primary students head off to their homerooms to begin their new school year.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me next week, and at any point during the coming year.  I am here to support your child and the best way to do that is to work together with you, their parents, as partners.  I look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday morning.

Have a lovely “last weekend of summer” with your children!  Maeve
