Recently in Grade 4KL, we have been focusing on writing meaningful sentences to show what a word means.  We are learning that if you write “I have compass.” it does not tell us what a compass is but if we write a sentence like “I have a compass so I know where North is.” then we know what the word compass means.  We now have a “Sentence Hall of Fame”.  When completing the Guided Reading activities, if a student writes a really great sentence, it goes into the Hall of Fame for the week.  Some of this week’s Hall of Fame inductees include:

Today I was sick so I called my butler to clean the house. – AlGhala
I visited the
dentist because my teeth were killing me. – AliReda
I was on a
mission to save a cat that’s stuck in a tree. – Sheiam

Other people in the Hall of Fame this week are Mayar, Sara, Yahya, Ayyoub, Fatma, Mohammed, Rayan and Shaikha.  Well done to everyone who wrote such great sentences.
