Firstly, thank you for attending our Student Led Conferences. The children absolutely loved having their parents at school and loved sharing their learning and their school environment with you all.

Our Oman Week this week was full of fun learning. We have celebrated the heritage of Oman with various interesting activities. It was great to see that the children had lots of fun while learning about our host country’s wonderful culture. Moreover, the children from Oman enjoyed sharing their /knowledge about their country with others.

We kicked off our week with dressing up in Omani traditional costumes and in Omani flag colours on Sunday. We also learnt about Omani pottery and made our own clay pottery.

On Monday, we painted store bought Omani pots. We will continue to work on our clay pots next week.

On Tuesday, we learnt about Omani cuisine. Our lovely Omani teachers showed us how to make loqaimat, an Omani dessert, and the method of preparing Omani bread.

On Wednesday, we made a silver necklace and decorated it with gems and beads after watching a video about Omani jewelry.

On Thursday, we celebrated a special Omani event called Qaranqasho. A variety of activities were set up in the Early Years area for us to explore and celebrate this special day.

Another busy week for us packed with fun learning.

Happy Qaranqasho!!!

Have a lovely weekend,

Ms Nicholson and Ms Khadija
