In grade 11 biology we’ve been studying photosynthesis. Students need to recall and understand a lot of information but we did a practical to look at the outcomes of the process in leaves. We also took the chance to extract some chlorophyll. Here are some pictures of them at work outside…

I hope that students appreciate the role of Rubisco, the most abundant and important enzymes on the planet because it is able to extract individual molecules of carbon dioxide out of the air and to incorporate it into its bio chemicals. There would be no life as we know it on our planet without it.
