This week we are starting to focus on the beginning sounds in students names. Nearly everyone can recognise their own names now, and many can identify their friends. We looked at beginning sounds in the groups names and finding them together on our alphabet wall. We are now establishing a routine of after snacks reading time with the books we have been reading since the beginning of the year. The students are beginning to share the books and retell the stories.
In Art they have been using a variety of materials and techniques to decorate their names which they all enjoyed. For our unit of inquiry the students used chalks to draw around their bodies naming the parts as they drew. They practiced their fine motor skills, exercised, learned new language and had great fun all in the same activity. Thank you to you all for your support.
