Grade 12 DP History students have had a very productive week with a focus on applying Internal Assessment feedback and practicing the skills needed for Paper 2. This week students received detailed feedback on their initial IA drafts. The next step is to reflect upon ways to improve and strengthen the historical investigation prior to submitting a final draft by the November 7th due date. Additionally, our class is close to finishing our exploration into the rule of Fidel Castro as part of our Authoritarian States world history topic. This unit is assessed as part of Paper 2 which requires students to write an analytical essay on one or more authoritarian leaders. Our next case study will examine the rule of Mao Zedong in China.
As you know, this is a busy and often stressful time for our Grade 12 students. Please take the opportunity to recognize them for their accomplishments and to support them with the challenges they face. It is a good time to encourage our DP students to practice the IB Learner Profile attribute of balance and to reconnect with those passions that drive them. Thank you for all that you do as parents to support your child’s learning!
