In both English and Individuals and Societies we have completed the first units. As a summative task in English, students wrote an essay analysing the techniques and success of an advert. In Individuals and Societies, students worked in small groups to present a newscast that dealt with the causes, course and consequences of a natural disaster of their own choosing.
In English, the next unit will be a literature based unit. We will be studying ‘The Outsiders’ by S E Hinton as a basis for an investigation about individuality and fitting into society. The next unit in Individuals and Societies will be History based. We will be investigating explorations through time, looking at causes, consequence and the importance/ impact of exploration on the modern world.
