This week, the kids warmly welcomed a new member to our learning community. We hope Alexandra and her family transition into Suhar comfortably and smoothly. In keeping with the PYP model, we are learning to dig deeper by using questions and key concepts. In math, we continue to examine how place value represents the value of a number. This week we compared numbers and explored how to write out our thinking. We will continue with this strategy as new concepts appear in hopes of making a collaborative art piece for our classroom- A HUGH HONEYCOMB OF OUR KNOWLEDGE. In math, we also looked at Kendisky’s art and created a piece full of circles that represented a number. We are using the keys of FORM and FUNCTION to investigate word parts and used our THINKING ATL skill to figure out their meanings through patterns. It’s our word study. Please continue to provide opportunities for your student to share their learning with you. Kids are making progress.
