Dear K2 Families,
This week we completed several learning engagements focusing on name recognition activities, the initial letter of and forming the letters of our names. We also worked to figure out how many letters we have in our names. We explored a variety of art materials, painting techniques and different tools to be used when creating. We practiced our fine motor skills- especially cutting. We expressed ourselves using a variety of playdough provocations to encourage us to “think, create and express ourselves”.
We also used the power of illustrations to provoke discussions and interpret stories.
Throughout this week we continued to talk about our essential agreements which allowed us to focus on one of the Learner Profile attributes: being “Caring”, by taking turns. Next week both of K2 classes will come together as a group and collaborate so we can come up with a set of essential agreements.
