We are working to get caught up with our chemistry course content so students have been focusing on the chemistry of acids and bases. They are also exploring possible IA (their independent experiments) questions.
Here are some pictures of students discovering how acids react with various metal compounds. We had a few spills but no broken glass!
The simple fact is that lab work is fun, engaging, and a great way to learn the skills and concepts of chemistry.
I was also able to catch video footage of the flame test that determines if hydrogen gas is being produced.
