Hello everyone,

Grade 5 have made a fantastic start to learning this week.

All of our activities this week have been around the Who We Are theme of IDENTITY. We inquired into the meaning of the word identity and shared in other languages to celebrate all the languages our Grade speaks.

We completed personal inquiries into the origins of our names using primary sources (our families) and secondary sources (the internet). It was fascinating to hear everyone’s connections to their families and the meanings of all our names. Here they are:

We described ourselves using 3 numbers, as a colour, symbol and animal, played Omani games, read stories, shared holiday memories and even tested ourselves with a Kahoot about everything we learned during the week.

We have been challenging ourselves to produce high quality work and have been experts at navigating the online technology.

We are very excited to return to school face to face next week. Ms Rachel, Ms Khadija and Ms Deb have the space socially distanced and all ready to be filled with students.

Could we please ask that all students bring a pencil case, sunhat, water bottle, their iPad fully charged and headphones.

Message from The P.E. Department: Please remind all students that they should wear their PE kit to school on the days that they have PE lessons. This must include appropriate sports shoes. They will not have access to changing facilities. They should also bring a FULL water bottle and a hat to all lessons. For safety reasons, students will not be able to participate without these items and appropriate attire.

Enjoy your weekend
