The penultimate week has been packed full of exciting activities for Grade 6! Zainab from The Media Dilemma group was interviewed by Adam Cole of Oman FM and it will be on air very soon! Great example of action from Zainab as she spreads awareness of cyberbullying throughout Oman and she spoke knowledgeably and confidently. Well done Zainab!

We had some strangely quiet homeroom sessions this week as the majority of our students were taking Arabic language, Omani Social Studies and Islamic Studies exams. We wish them all the very best for a great outcome!

We also held our Grade 6 Graduation ceremony and were delighted to have Ms Maeve come in to read out the certificates for all students and to present two very special awards. In memory of Ms Marie Usher who sadly passed away this year after a brave battle with cancer, ABIS are honouring her memory every year by presenting a special award to a Grade 6 student who demonstrates a commitment to their own education, achieves their personal best and upholds ABIS values while demonstrating the IB Learner Profile attributes. There were many students who were worthy of such an award and it was an extremely difficult decision. The awards went to Al Hussain Al Zaabi and Sarah Pelligana, both of whom will be leaving ABIS this year. A special award was also presented to Renad Al Badi who will also be leaving ABIS this year. They will all be missed very much by classmates and teachers but hopefully take with them the confidence and knowledge they have gained during their time at ABIS. We wish them all the very best.

Next week will be packed full of exciting activities for students as we wind down in our final week of learning. There will also be some very important information shared regarding the transition into Grade 7 after the holidays. We look forward to seeing everyone for the final week of what has been a very challenging year for Grade 6 students and we couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of them!
