Dear parents,

I am very pleased that the student Walkathon held last week has raised 1946 OMR so far. This is a tremendous effort and all participants are to be congratulated for such an excellent result!

This week I have had the opportunity to visit many classes and see the students in their learning. In the ECC building, KG children are playing and learning under the attentive care of our ECC teachers and classroom assistants. The Grade 1 students are equally engaged in a caring and supportive learning environment. Walking through the LC1, LC2 and LC3 building, I am impressed by the commitment and dedication of the teachers and students everywhere.

We have launched an updated school website complete with school videos, please do drop by and take a look: https://abisoman.com/

There was a number of clothing items that we have decided to sell at a reduced price. These are quality garments and worth looking at: https://abisoman.com/shop/  Please do make a purchase, our admin are waiting for your order!

The student kitchen is now finished and we are very pleased with the end result. We hope that student’s will soon be able to use this facility for all things associated with cooking and food.

A kiln has been installed in the arts area as well as potter’s wheels. This was a long term project as the kiln had to be imported and installed, so we are very pleased that it is now ready to be used. Students in some art classes will be able to learn pottery in the coming months.

The farm has undergone a re-design with a fence put in for the goats, the chicken coop moved towards the back, and grass and trees planted. It is starting to look very nice and we are looking forward to seeing the grass and trees grow. New vegetable boxes have been added and permanent recycling compost boxes installed.

As we plan for the next academic year, we would like to hear from parents on the timing of the school day for the next academic year. Two items in particular have been raised: should we start the day earlier so that students can finish earlier in the afternoon, and should Thursday be a full day of school? This is a preliminary survey, all input will be carefully considered and further advice requested before any changes are made.

Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

Dominic Robeau
