We have been doing a daily “Number of the day” challenge. One of the questions is about forming the amount with money. On Wednesday we had a lot of fun looking for the money from our home countries or places we had travelled to. If possible we tried to make 13- that particular number of the day. Then we showed different money to each other! We had money from Oman, Netherlands, Tanzania, South Africa, India, Cerbia, Brazil and even Madagascar! It is an interesting way to learn about numbers, for example, Astoorh had 13 “100 baisa” notes to make 13 riyals! Manuela had 1/2 a riyal (500 baisa). We also saw the money in “thousands” from Madagascar! The pounds were not large quantities. We observed the different pictures on the money. South African had 2 different 5 rand coins.
