This week has been busy and exciting, as we plan to begin KG3 learning online on Sunday as well as restructure our Primary learning to incorporate both online learning and face to face learning for our grades 1-6 students. Teachers have been organizing learning spaces, creating plans to incorporate both approaches to learning, communicating with families, and collaborating to ensure a smooth transition into our hybrid learning plans.  You have received both the school protocols as well as information from your child’s grade level teachers to explain the processes and procedures for next week. As always, continue to communicate with us as we work towards a smooth start on Sunday.

Students returning to school must bring their own water bottles (refillable in their grade level areas), lunch and snacks, as well as bring hats to wear during outdoor play times.  Wearing PE clothes on sports days is important, as students will not have access to change rooms. Very careful thought and preparation has gone into ensuring that students are well socially distanced and that hand washing, sanitizing and cleaning procedures are also well in place.  Please take time to discuss these with your child, as well as talk to them each day about how their learning is going, how they are feeling being back at school again, things that are happy and things that are challenges for them.

Online students will also have some adjustments this week as they may see different faces in their learning groups.  Be sure to ask them what changes they have noticed, if any, and how they are feeling about any new routines.  We will organize another materials pick up for online learners next week.

I appreciate all of the communication with families during the past week as we all work together to make choices that are best for each individual student.  I am elated to be meeting students in person for the first time at ABIS next week.  Thank you to all parents for the support you continue to give to teachers, me and most importantly to your children.
