It has been an exciting week in Grade 3 with my class. We are starting to get to know each other and establish a consistent routine. The students have been quick to adapt to online learning and now know how to respect each other online by turning their microphone off and having cameras on during lesson time.
This week students have shared their work space on Seesaw. It is important to have a special space at home that allows for concentration. Each week I will share the work space of two students; this week is the turn of a Hamid and Sara to share their study space.
As part of our class contract, the students in Grade 3 came up with three essential agreements; these included respect myself, respect others and respect the environment. Their hand design will be displayed in class to help us achieve our best.
As part of English this week, we have explored adjectives and how they can be used to describe a person. The students thought about interesting adjectives to describe themselves and applied these words to a piece of art. The amazing adjective artwork shows how we can express ourselves using colour and design.
We had a lot of fun this week in maths by playing ‘Bingo’ where students demonstrated their addition and subtraction knowledge. Our focus was on ordinal numbers and how to say and write them. Students learnt how to take the last two letters of the ordinal number and add it to the end of the number value.
Thank you for your ongoing support during online learning. The students need to be proud with what they have achieved in a short space of time. Enjoy a well earned weekend.
