My name is Maeve Doherty and I am delighted to be making my first Broadcaster post as the new Primary Team Leader of ABIS for the 2020-2021 school year. This week the SLT (Senior Leadership Team) and all new teachers have been busily meeting online, getting to know each other, learning new technology tools and exploring the ins and outs of working at ABIS. It’s been exciting to meet such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team!
I am an enthusiastic educator and I am anxious to meet all ABIS families in person to begin building relationships together. I have worked in several libraries throughout my career as an educator. One of my favourite things to do is read aloud to students, and I look forward to sharing my love for books with the students and developing literacy skills across all learning activities.
I am an early childhood specialist, and a drama major, therefore I value integrating the arts into learning via music, movement and drama. During my free time I like to swim and of course, read. I enjoy traveling and exploring new cultures, and I believe Sohar will be a great fit for me. I love walking anywhere where there are mountains and/or water, and I can’t wait for the opportunity to begin exploring Oman.
