Hi everyone,

It’s hard to believe that there are only three weeks left in this academic year. It has been a bit of a topsy turvey time, especially since our winter break but what a lot of learning has taken place with all of our new experiences.

In times like these it is easy to talk about the bad stuff but it’s important to reflect on what has been good too so we learn from both. It’s a good time to think about our students and your children and ask ourselves some questions. This week I have three questions for you.

“What learning dispositions have our children displayed or been developing?” Have they shown more independence and taken more responsibility for their own learning? If they haven’t what might be holding them back from doing this?

The second big question is “What can my child do now that they couldn’t do before?” It may be around learning a new skill like cooking or it may be around the dispositions. Has my child shown resilience and perseverance? Has my child been interested in learning at home?

A final question for you is “What are you learning about your child during this time? What are they learning about you?”

Just some food for thought.

Next week we will be celebrating 50 days of Distance Learning on Tuesday 2nd June. You will find different learning opportunities posted by teachers around the number 50!

Enjoy your weekend and see you on Sunday.
