ABIS Community:
During the last couple of months, we as a Board have been actively recruiting a new Head of School. We have been fortunate to interview many candidates for the position, and we are now down to the final candidate selection. Last week we had the opportunity for parent, teacher and administration representatives to participate in the interview process. Everyone involved was pleased with the strengths of the candidates and the positivity that each one would bring to ABIS.
This process is not yet over, as we still need to involve the heads of both shareholders: Sohar Aluminium and OQ. We expect that we will be able to finalize everything shortly and in turn share the good news of our new Head of School.
Whilst Neil will continue to lead the school until the end of the school year, in order to help with the transition of new leadership within ABIS, we are happy to announce that Michelle Simpson has been promoted to the role Interim Head of School. In this role she will help the new Head of School in taking on this position, prepare for the 2020/2021 school year, and ensure there is a smooth change in leadership. Further, we have hired Maeve Doherty as the new Primary Team Leader. She will start on August 1, 2020.
