January 27, 2020 marked the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Poland. That day was chosen as a day of remembrance for all of the victims of the Holocaust. Students in grade 9 have been learning about this genocide in MYP Individuals and Societies, Language Acquisition, and Literature classes. The unit culminated in the creation of a display where students wrote for the victims and created suitcases for them much like the ones that they had packed their belongings in upon deportation.
