Some fantastic games of basketball at ABIS over this past week. The Al Batinah Invitational Competition features the top 18&U basketball players in the Sohar area and games have been played at a very high standard. Last Thursday our girls played their round 2 game against Sohar Park and after being defeated in the first game the girls were eager for revenge. With Emma playing a vital role at point guard ABIS were able to control the game from the start and took a comprehensive win 44-21. The boys game against SIS was a much closer affair with our boys showing great composure and heart to fight back after SIS took a big lead at the start. With the game evenly poised at half time SIS once again drew ahead after Jule’s was fouled off after some strong defense. Julio and Andrew produced some great shots to have the crowd on their feet but it was not quite enough as SIS ran out winners 83-77. The boys semi final will be played this weekend with ABIS playing Batang Gilas on Friday afternoon at 4:00pm and Sohar Park playing SIS at 3:00pm on Saturday.
