We hope you enjoyed your extra day to the week break. I had a wonderful time exploring Iran and enjoying the cooler weather. This week saw the students straight back into work and I have had several comments about how much more settled classes are. The students have become used to the routines of the school day and learning expectations and we will see real growth in their progress from now on.

Today we were treated to the MYP Arts Showcase at our assembly. It’s always great to see what our older students are doing and the talent that we have at ABIS. I know a lot of hard work went into preparing for this event and it was a pleasure to enjoy.

Next week we will be moving to the outdoor duty schedule which means that indoor play areas will generally be closed. Please make sure your children have sun hats and sun cream to wear when out. It is preferable to have a wide brimmed hat that covers the face, ears and neck. We will be enforcing the “No Hat, No Play” policy and those without hats will be asked to remain in the shade. Some ideas for suitable hats are below.

On Monday 4th November we will be having our next Mother Tongue Monday session so the children look forward to seeing all of those parents involved.

There will also be a House Picnic on this same day so students can come dressed in house colours and can enjoy a shared lunch outside LC2 & 3. Feel free to bring along a picnic lunch and join us.

Tuesday 5th, will see approximately 15 members from the MOE visiting for a workshop around Visible Thinking, Assessment in the PYP, how we use our learning spaces and facilities, and technology in the classroom. Times for this are approximately 9am until lunchtime.
