Today was a special day for Grade 1. The children got to share their information books on how families help each other with their Grade 4 buddies. The older kids were excellent role models and encouraged their younger buddies to share their knowledge with confidence. The encounter was a huge success! Here’s what Grade 1 had to say about the experience:
“My buddy was kind. I made a mistake and he said, that’s ok.”
“My buddy was surprised that I could cook.”
“I was shy at first, but then I felt calm because my buddy looked really focused when I was reading.”
“My buddy was listening to me and asking questions.”
