The first week of any year is always a bit unusual… we spend a lot of time building relationships with the new students and teachers. The second week, we started to settle into the routines that will be established for the year.
One new routine this year will include how we use the advisory time in Secondary. We have brought in more teachers to provide opportunities for small group conversations on variety of topics throughout the year.
Another new routine is our daily flag-raising assembly. Everyday, we take three minutes to honor our host country with the playing of the Omani anthem and the raising of the Omani flag. Over the coming weeks in advisory, we will give all students a chance to share the ways that they show pride in their home countries. Please find time to discuss with your child your own country’s traditions that help you identify as members of that culture.
