Well it’s hard to believe how quickly time goes and that week one of school is done. It has been great to see everyone back and the students enjoying being at school after a long break. Some girls in Grade 5 summed up their summer, for me. “It was ok Ms Simpson but we’d rather be back at school. It’s more fun than being at home”, and then “We like learning here because we remember our learning, not like in our old school.” I think that says it all. On that note school has begun and if your child is still away they have missed a week of learning and forming friendship groups. Please try to ensure you are back at ABIS next week.
Wishing you a lovely long weekend with Sunday being a holiday to celebrate Islamic New Year. We will see you again on Monday 2nd September.
A reminder to have students at school by 8.15 to take part in raising of the Omani Flag and the National Anthem.
For parents of our expatriate children, ABIS wants to let you know that we continue to look for a teacher to teach Arabic for our international students. We are working hard to find someone suitable to meet the needs of our pupils and who is a good fit for ABIS. I will keep you up to date but, as always, if you have any questions please let me know.
Parent Information Evening, Tuesday 3rd September.

Secondary 6.45-7.45pm in LC2.
This is an opportunity to come along and meet your child’s teacher and specialists. You will find out a lot of valuable information for the year and be able to ask questions. Please make every effort to attend this meeting and show support for your children. Students need not attend. This is a Parent Information Evening. Meetings take place in your child’s classroom space and will be followed by secondary meetings in LC2.
