The G9 class this year in IGCSE Global Perspectives has embarked on meaningful exploration of topics including women’s rights, conflict and protests in Venezuela, religious rights, and the preservation of different unique cultures. These projects created an impact through action based on research and understanding of different cultural perspectives.

Each team chose their own unique way of taking action which involved raising awareness about their topic areas. Wi-aam, Lizzy, and Abdullah worked with with the G8 class to share their findings and create a discussion around the topic of religious rights. Sulaiman, Mayar, Greta, and Zyrelle worked with the G7 class on raising awareness about the tragedy happening the Venezuela. Tay’a, Emma, and Noaf worked with the G6 and the G11 classes to raise healthy debate and awareness about women’s rights / equality. And Jaira, Annelies, Aufa, and Akshay discussed how cultures affect cultures and the importance of maintaining cultural identity and diversity in the world.

The dedication to raising awareness and searching for solutions to these issues is an essential element of Global Perspectives. The G9s are learning to become socially engaged based in empathy for the difficult situations people are facing in a complex world. To learn more about these issues, speak with the G9 students about their team projects and how you might be able to get involved.
