Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the ABIS beach clean-up held at Sanqar Beach, Sohar last Saturday, Dec. 8th. Over 50 caring students, parents and teachers attended ready and willing to comb the beach for plastic, glass, styrofoam, buried fishing nets, bottle caps, old beds and more. These items are harmful to birds, marine life and ultimately us humans, so it was great to know that our efforts to clean up the beach are truly making a difference!

As we combed the beach area around Sanqar Park, we came across a large pile of rubbish. By the end of scooping all the plastic, glass, and other waste from the large pile we had filled up about 3 trailer loads of trash! All was delivered safely to large municipality containers to be removed permanently from the area. This large scale removal of harmful waste from the beach area was very satisfying for all of us! (see photos)

We are planning to do a 2nd beach clean up later this year that is scheduled for Saturday, February 2nd. More information to come about that.

Thank you gain to everyone who participated and we hope to see you at future ABIS beach clean-ups!!
