The week before the break the K1 students were involved in a baking activity. They made microwave chocolate mug cakes. For Maths they had to count and measure the ingredients accurately, later they sequenced the photos. For science they had to make a hypothesis by looking at the ingredients and equipment we were using. While we were making the cakes we explored language relating to our senses by asking and answering questions. For Art the students made cream cheese icing and were able to decorate their cake with multiple toppings. They all had a great time exploring baking in this unit of inquiry.
