Our Grade 2 students have been developing their research skills this week by preparing questions and then interviewing a buddy from a different culture. The aim was to gather enough information to be able to identify similarities and differences between two cultures.
We realised that in carrying out research you have to use a lot of skills. We needed communication skills and thinking skills as well as self-management skills to complete the task within the available time.
We have enjoyed sharing about aspects of our culture and learning about other people’s culture. A very special part of this was our Cultural Shared lunch where we each brought a favourite dish from our culture and introduced this to the rest of the students in Grade 2. We shared a beautiful lunch and enjoyed tasting some new foods.
