PLASBIN

Mr. Martin Mbuta, a.k.a. Mr. Plasbin, came to speak to the whole school last Sunday about his organization’s efforts to recycle plastic waste and turn them into useful trash cans. Mr. Mbuta discussed the dangers of plastic waste to animals and the environment, and explained the proper way of segregating reusable and recycleable materials.

OMANSAIL

Mr. Richard Bacani and his crew came to ABIS to give a follow-up practice to the Grade 8s so that they could confidence before going to the open water training next week. The Grade 9s also had a chance to do a refresher course with the team.

UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY

On Monday, Ms Kathryn King drove from Muscat to meet with our secondary students. She introduced her alma mater to students by discussing how it is to live and learn in Kentucky, the range of undergraduate courses offered on campus, and part-time jobs and scholarships available to successful applicants.

BAND NEXT YEAR

Mr. Manuel Fernandes of Talentz met with our Gr5 and 6 students and parents to explain the options for students when it comes to their instrumentx when they continue in next year’s band program.
