What constitutes an average effort? What is below average or above average? Grade 5 started their lesson today with giving examples of each. Are we on time? Are we challenging ourselves? When is it okay to be average and when should we aim for something more? Our group task involved dictating the rhythm of our song “Black Socks”. Each group worked together to make the pattern of the words but our clever students also found the words “average kids” in their rhythm patterns – clearly working above average there! Application – transferring what we know to new situations – is an important part of being knowledgeable.
