This week the G8 class went to Musannah to complete their Open Water PADI Dive Certification. Nearly all of the G8 students became PADI Certified divers this week, and the ones who haven’t yet, are still working toward this goal. It was great to see how their skills and comfort levels with diving improved throughout the course. By the last dive, G8s were independently taking care of their dive gear including changing their air tanks, inflating and deflating their BCDs, preparing their mask and fins for the dive, getting suited up, and doing a back roll of the boat into the water. Most of them are now certified to dive down to 12 meters, and once they turn 15 (next year), they can upgrade their certification to 18 meters.
Along with all of that, they are becoming familiar with the underwater life of Oman, learning to appreciate more fully the sea, the environment, and everything in it. Great job G8s!!
