Grade 9 is completing their study of quadratic equations and the parabolic curves they produce. To finish the unit, they have modeled a real life situation by developing a quadratic model. The emphasis of the assessment is on communication, specifically developing lines of reasoning, understanding the effect of assumptions on accuracy of results and explaining why a solution makes sense in context.
