The new Community Service ASA had the opportunity show our caring last week as we spent quality time together with 3rd graders at a local Omani School near the Suk here in Sohar. At the local Omani School (Al Isharak Primary School), ABIS Community Service students started out with getting to know you activities, including playing a game of saying your name and something you like, passing a stuffed animal around for each to share. Then we moved on to some very fun and engaging activities like: DIYs (Do It Yourself Activities), Outdoor Physical Games (Tic-Tac-Toe Relay), Music (Playing Xylophones), and Art (Coloring, Drawing, and Origami). With these four main activities, we attempted to rotate the G3 Omani students so they could experience more than one activity that we had prepared for them
The Omani students were glowing with smiles at each activity. And of course, the ABIS students enjoyed giving freely and actually doing “hands-on” Community Service! We hope we can spend more time with these children again soon, likely inviting them over to spend a couple of hours with us here at ABIS. Keep checking for more to come with ABIS Community Service. Together we can make a difference!
