Greetings from Doha and the Qatar National Convention Centre, an enormous, beautiful complex which has to boast some sort of record for bathrooms per square meter. It’s like looking for a petroleum station in Oman. Give it 30 seconds, you’ll see one.

Grade 10 did us all very proud again today–a full day of committee work. Resolutions (drafted yesterday) were brought up before the entire committee, debated, amended, and voted upon. Ms. Marchmont and I spent the day moving around the convention centre, looking in our students. We were very impressed with what we saw and heard. Meeting up with them at lunch and hearing their enthusiastic chatter and real grappling with the workings of the UN was entirely satisfying.

Towards the ends of the day I happened upon Ziad in his committee room at the podium, defending his resolution, which was under consideration. He was calm and collected under questioning from the room.

A video clip of Ziad is posted in our web album, along with other shots from the day. Well done, Grade 10!
