An hour in the park, pizza for lunch, meet up with M. Cerdan’s brother, who gave us a tour of several major sites including the avenue des Champs-Élysées with some incredible buildings that act as records of the period of great competition with London to show their global might through architecture. This led us to the Arc de Triomphe, a memorial to the victorious battles of France. A long walk along the Seine River which teamed with runners and bikers, and a few artists and musicians. We continued past the Louvre, one of the largest museums in the world, which unfortunately is still closed. At several points along the way, we saw the Eiffel Tower which simply stands as the great icon of Paris, every present and reassuring of the strength of this great city and the resolve of its people.
