It’s very meaningful for students to hear directly from sources who are truly in touch with current issues facing our planet today. This week we were fortunate enough to have a guest speaker, Mr. Roderick de Rooij from a company called Oil Tanking Inc. based here in Sohar. Mr. Roderick is an expert on the current Oil and Energy sustainability situation both locally and globally. We, of course, were all on the edge of our seats when he explained how the current known reserves of oil globally leave us with approximately 43 years worth! Sustainable forms of energy being one of the main issues facing the world, this understanding helps students become aware and in touch with our current situation. This also gives students context for identifying potential scenarios and actions we can take for a sustainable future in relation to energy. Thank you for this important visit Mr. Roderick!
