It’s that time of year again: CAS / MCAS time!
CAS stands for Creativity, Activity and Service. It is a requirement for all DP students to complete experiences in these three areas over the course of their 11th and 12th grade years. Be on the lookout for more CAS information over the next few weeks.
MCAS stands for Modified CAS and is the program we will be using with our 7th – 10th graders this year. Our 7th graders will learn more about MCAS in their Personal Project time, but our 8th – 10th graders will be getting started soon by participating in ASAs to gain their Creativity, Activity and Service experiences. Each of the three MCAS sessions – which correspond to our ASA sessions – will enable students to earn a Bronze award (one experience), Silver award (two experiences) or Gold award (three experiences). They will also have to complete a Collaborative Project at least once during the year.
We’ll look forward to seeing our students get involved and engage in some amazing CAS and MCAS experiences!
