Last week in Global Perspectives grade 9 students debated the efficacy of a wind farm (collection of wind turbines to collect energy) in our local Sohar area. Students were tasked with taking a side in the debate, researching the topic, and preparing arguments and questions.
All of this is about analysis of data, a crucial life skill that comes in big in Global Perspectives. I enjoyed watching the students sift through information and craft it into coherent, meaningful arguments and then, of course, argue about it.
Grade 9 just loves to argue.
