Dear parents,

After a long, long summer break it is time for your children to return to school, which may or may not upset you! All of our staff are very much looking forward to the start of the school year and we have been very busy preparing learning spaces and planning lessons over the last few weeks to ensure a smooth start. I am pleased to announce that we are now ‘virtually’ set up and ready to go for another successful year of development and learning at ABIS.

We are happy to inform you that the Secondary school is a little bigger this year because we have will have a few more students joining us. It is also the first year of the IB Diploma at the school so we are looking forward to starting the programme and expect that more students will come to ABIS as a result.

On a practical note, the first three periods on Monday will be dedicated to helping students settle back into school. They will begin normal ‘teaching’ lessons during period 4. Please make sure that children have their PE kits on Monday as they will all have PE.

Thanks to the hard work of Mr George and our students, we have recently qualified as an ‘Eco School’, meaning that we will do our very best to go green and protect the environment by reducing wastage. In previous years a great deal of stationery has gone to waste at the start of the year as we gave out new materials. This year we have decided only to replace stationery that has been used up so students are required to bring in all stationery materials (pens, rulers, highlighters) from the last school year on Monday and we will replace anything that has run out or is broken. Thank you for reminding them.

I personally look forwarding to greeting both you and your children next week!
