The Gr. 8 students made up some jokes about the identifying characteristics of Ebenezer Scrooge and his lovely nephew, Fred. We looked at the contrast between these character foils as we began Charles Dickens’ classic novella A Christmas Carol. It became quite obvious which of the two we’d rather have as a relative.
